Modern, Spacious, and Centrally Located Facility

Strongpoint CrossFit is located on the south end of Jacksonville, easily accessible via I-95, I-295 and Phillips Highway. We are just 2 miles south of Avenues Mall in Mandarin and 10 minutes south of the St. Johns Town Center and University of North Florida. We are passionate about health and fitness and it shows in the dedication, education and knowledge of our world class coaches. Our collective goal is to get you healthier and fitter with each and every workout. Our coaches are certified by CrossFit, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and complete a rigorous Instructor Training Program before standing in front of our members. Members of our staff also hold certifications in the specialty domains traditionally incorporated into CrossFit such as Kettlebells, Endurance, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Movement and Mobility, and Indoor Rowing. We have three USA Weightlifting Club Coaches and a Yoga instructor on staff. Rest assured; we know our stuff!

Our multi-faceted, 5,200 square-foot facility allows for varied and functional workout programming. Our facility is state-of-the-art with enough space and equipment to comfortably support our classes, but not in the way of your typical big-box gyms. We do not have ellipticals, treadmills, or weight machines. We use your body and real weights to create free, natural movement. We only have machines that mimic functional movement and none of those that do not contribute to overall health and a lean, conditioned body. We welcome you to take a look around our box and our equipment suite. You won’t see a lot of mirrors, but you will see results in your own mirror and in the fit of your clothes when you make the move to functional fitness.

We coach movements and exercises that are natural and fundamental to human physiology and musculoskeletal health. What separates us from your typical gym experience is that our workouts are not at all typical. We strip away the non-functional machinery and teach body mechanics and awareness. We ensure that you get the best and most effective training by coaching you through the foundational exercises and gradually increasing difficulty and intensity. The workouts are rarely the same, but designed to elicit a hormonal response with every workout guaranteeing that you will see steady, sustainable progress. We combine these workouts with nutritional guidance to achieve each athlete’s optimal body composition and health.

We offer more than 30 group classes at convenient times throughout the week and offer Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit Endurance, and Yoga classes to round out our members’ experience. One-on-one sessions are also available.

Strongpoint has members that serve as an in-house massage therapist, Krissy Klingler (LMT) and chiropractor, Dr. Rhett Butler, DC that are our first line of defense for basic body maintenance and recovery. They both follow the program and know exactly what you are feeling! We also have strong relationships with several physical therapy providers in the area.

14 Key Elements that Make Strongpoint CrossFit World Class

  1. Our program is very well structured. However; while we carefully map out our strength cycles, we maintain constant variation via our daily conditioning workouts. We do not confuse “constantly varied” with random by any means and this provides the proper stimulus to keep your mind and body growing.
  2. In turn, our classes are well structured into five basic parts. We begin each class with a general warm up and mobility work before moving to movement prep and a strength or skill piece. We wrap up the last portion of the class with a conditioning workout of varying durations and “cash out” to help aid in the recovery process and/or reinforce a skill. We make the best possible use of your time in the gym.
  3. We start our classes on schedule and provide a full hour of training (plus or minus five minutes or so). We continuously teach, review, and refine movement during each session. This includes explaining, demonstrating, and watching each member of the class perform providing individualized feedback to help each member move more safely and efficiently.
  4. Our coaching staff follows the program and comes from a wide variety of athletic and professional backgrounds. Our collective experience includes training and competition in CrossFit (of course!), military and fire physical fitness tests, road races ranging from 5K to marathons, Olympic weightlifting, martial arts and many different team sports. Suffice it to say, we talk the talk and walk the walk!
  5. We have adequate floor space and equipment to serve classes with over 20 athletes with space leftover for additional work on the side. Our 20 foot ceilings provide a spacious feeling while providing room for critical CrossFit movements like rope climbs, muscle ups, and wall ball shots.
  6. We do not have a lunk alarm. In fact, you can drop weights all you want because our plates are made of durable rubber and our space is covered from wall to wall with rubber flooring as this provides a safer environment for dynamic weightlifting movements.
  7. No one likes stuffy environments when they workout, so we have a large bay door and ample fans to keep the gym full of fresh air. It allows athletes to enter and exit the building in a safer manner and it looks cool too!
  8. We have skylights in the ceiling, which provide tons of natural light onto the floor so you never feel like you are training in a dungeon.
  9. We have plenty of parking so you are never getting into fights in the parking lot over a space like you do at the mall during Christmas.
  10. We are tucked away from any main roads ensuring that traffic seldom ever interferes with our training.
  11. We like to train hard, but we enjoy socializing with cool people even more. We get together a lot to hangout so when you join you get a bunch of friends for free.
  12. We work really hard so we need to recover strong too. We have established strong relationships with various therapy providers and product vendors to keep you in the game.
  13. Stretching and relaxing is also an important aspect of the gym so we do a lot of mobility work and hold Yoga classes to keep our athletes limber.
  14. We have deep roots and strong network connections in the area. We regularly host clinics and workshops with experts from the worlds of Olympic weightlifting, Powerlifting, Rowing, and mobility and round it out with vendor visits where equipment providers bring their goods directly to the gym to provide some training and education… often times at a discount!
