Coach’s Comments: Adam started in the spring of 2015 and came to us as a relatively fit individual with a good background in barbell work from weightlifting and football in high school. I still remember his first week… he showed up in khaki shorts because he forgot his workout shorts and went ahead and did the WOD anyway. Typical Roach! He referred in his lovely fiancé (now wife), Cele, a few months later and they have both become mainstays in our 4:30 pm class. Adam has served the gym in various capacities as a judge for two Festivus Games, helping out with gym clean up days, and even carting me around on a forklift to change out the climbing ropes. He also served as an intramural team captain during the 2016 Open where he led his team to sweet victory! Adam makes productive use of Open Gym periods and regularly participates in our Olympic Weightlifting class. After participating in the Open and Forging the Warriors’ Regional fundraiser competition, Adam has set his sights on competing in an Olympic weightlifting meet this fall where his relative pound for pound strength will allow him to shine. The staff is proud of his development to date and we look forward to working with him to achieve of his fitness goals in the future! PS – he also does a mean Johnny Cash impression.
